BTM CLAYS LEAGUE RULES

2011/2012

1. The League will consist of eight (8) Divisions. They are the Mallard, Grouse, Snipe, Turkey, Quail, Pheasant, Drake, and
Teal.
The Quail and Pheasant Divisions will start – Sunday/August 28th and every first Sunday thereafter. Except for January
shoot, which will be held January 8 (second Sunday).
The Snipe and Turkey Divisions will start – Sunday/September 11th and every second Sunday thereafter. Except for
January 3rd shoot, which will be Sunday the 15th and April 3rd shoot, which will be Sunday April 15.
The Mallard and Grouse Divisions will start – Sunday/September 18th and every third Sunday thereafter. Except for April
4th shoot, which will be Sunday the 22nd.
The Drake and Teal Divisions will start – Sunday/September 25th and every fourth Sunday thereafter. Except for
December shoot, which will be January 1st or schedule a Saturday or Sunday in December.

2. The cost to sponsor a team is $125.00 and is due on each Division’s first shoot. Sponsor money will be used to pay the
scorekeepers. Cost to shoot = $20. You can field eight (8) shooters, but if all show on same Sunday, you must tell whose
score will not count BEFORE you shoot.

3. Each team consists of seven (7 or 8) shooters. The league score will be determined after the team shoots from the five
highest scores shot. If you cannot field a team of 5 shooters because of a scheduled trip or event, you must notify BTM
CLAYS 2 weeks in advance and set-up a new day/time for your team to shoot . (You must tip the trapper.) YOU CAN
ONLY RESCHEDULE YOUR WHOLE TEAM’S SHOOT TWO TIMES IN THE SEASON, UNLESS IT IS JOB
RELATED.

4. After the October shoot, and before the November shoot, ALL ROSTERS ARE FINAL!

5. ALL shooters must shoot designated scheduled day. At least 3 shooters MUST shoot at the scheduled time. Those who do
not shoot at the scheduled time, will be required to call and set up a shooting time. If 3 shooters do not show for designated
shooting time, only the score of two more shooters can be applied to the team score. Example: If 2 shooters show up to
shoot at the scheduled time, only 2 more scores can be applied to the team score from those shooting after hours. If no
shooters for a team show for the scheduled time, a $30 fee will be assessed.
Note: To make up individual scores, you can shoot any Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday of the month missed.

6. If gun jams on second (2nd) shot, shooter can take first bird as hit and not get another. If he missed on the first shot, he can
get two (2) new birds. You can do this twice per round. Two (2) mechanical malfunctions per round, per shooter. (NO
MENTAL MALFUNCTIONS)

7. Broken Birds – (Pair over) NO ESTABLISHED BIRDS.

8. Not shooting show birds / No side shooting.

9. No more than eight (8) shooters shooting on a team league day.

10. This year there will be open shooting on league days on the second course and the league course, but league teams have the
right of way ALWAYS!

11. Trappers have the right to change stations in the middle of the shoot due to mechanical failure.

12. When shooter misses a bird, scorekeeper will yell “loss” both trapper and scorekeeper will score. Scorekeeper will tell
shooter how many hits and misses at each station. Questions must be addressed at the station.

13. No alcohol will be permitted before or during ANY shoots.

14. Eye protection is mandatory for all League shoots. Hearing protection is optional, but recommended.

15. You must be 16 years of age or older to drive any golf cart on league days.
